About Champions of Business

Our regional business community is rich with the stories of visionary business leaders whose contributions have made Northcentral Wisconsin a great place to live and work. Since 2009, The Champions of Business Event has served to recognize and honor the professional accomplishments of these individuals as well as to identify positive role models for our students who may someday wish to work for or own a business of their own in this region. Proceeds from the event support Junior Achievement programs throughout Northcentral Wisconsin. The first Champions of Business Event honored D.C. Everest with the Founder Award (for outstanding business leadership prior to 1940) and John Ullrich and Bernie Greenheck with Developer Awards (for outstanding business leadership from 1940 to the present). This business recognition program is unique because it only honors business leaders who are no longer associated with the businesses they helped lead. Current business leaders active in their businesses today are not eligible.
